The Gentiana Scholarship Program enables the best students to attend secondary schools. For reasons of principle of co-responsibility, parents have to contribute between 5 and 40 percent to the school costs, depending on their social potential, except for orphans and children with disabilities.

The independent aid program ipambazuke (into the bright morning!), which is funded by the Gentiana Development Network, takes a somewhat different approach. It finances vocational school or further schooling for Gentiana graduates with learning difficulties from particularly socially precarious families. For example, it helps girls who became pregnant shortly after finishing school and supports former Gentiana students who made it to university.

With these two programs, Gentiana stays true to its motto of helping children from the slums get on their feet.
